Pablo Picasso had an intense relationship with the city of Barcelona, where he lived his adolescence and youth, forever marking him as a man and artist.
His training at the Llotja, life of Barcelona’s bohemian, the Catalans friends who kept all his life and his first exhibitions have helped us to articulate a Cultural tour which leads us to discover this strong bond.
Cultural Guided Tour
We will visit the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Sant Jordi, located in the highest part of the building of the Llotja of Barcelona, where Picasso studied from 14 years as they did many other contemporary artists and where his father also taught drawing classes. A space that has not undergone changes of time, remaining virtually intact.
Then we will start a route by the Ribera neighborhood where he lived with his family and had their first workshops, some of which still exists.
We will also visit the 4 palaces carrer Montcada where we find the most complete collection of his early work and the story behind each of these works.
Finally we will finish the route in the famous restaurant Els 4 Gats, place of bohemian worship where Picasso and his friends got together and conducted artistic gatherings and where the artist exhibited for the first time.
