This route a la carte reviews the model illustrated the eighteenth century urbanism that was built outside the walls and on the beach for sailors and fishermen and, today, is one of the districts with more vitality of Barcelona.
Cultural Guided Tour
We will leave the port and the old customs -today Palau del Mar to get into the heart of the neighborhood and visit the parish church of Sant Miquel and the house of the consul of France that will help us to know the history of Lesseps and the bombing of the city of Barcelona by General Espartero.
We also discover some hidden Masonic symbols in La Barceloneta Fraternitat -first cooperative town- then know the old steam and gas industries; and end up in the space that housed the now-defunct Square oldest bullring in the city: the Torín.
Finally we can appreciate the transformation undergone by the neighborhood winning the seafront with the beach and promenade.
Our final gastronomic proposal is to make a snack in one of the most representative taverns Barceloneta: La Cova Fumada.
